About Us

1.1) Introduction

During 1971-1980, the area has rich black cotton soil and cotton was the most established stable crop of the area, gradually cotton disappeared due to non control dieses and low production and Sugarcane crop come into existence. “Shree Khedut Sahakari Khand Udyog Mandli Ltd.” is registered under the Gujarat Cooperative Societies Act 1961, on 27th July 1990 and its Registration Number is SE – 65. The Central Government has approved a license in 1990 for establishment of a 2500 TCD Sugar Plant. Initially the plant and machinery had been supplied by the Nation Heavy Engineering Co-Operative Ltd., Pune.

This factory is situated at Pandvai village, Tal. Hansot, Dist. Bharuch, state – Gujarat (India). The distance between factory site and nearest railway station (Kosamba) is only 5 K.M and Nation Highway No. 8 is Only 8 K.M. The area of operation covers 467 villages of Hansot, Ankleshwar, Valia, Mangrol, Mandvi and Olpad talukas. The Number of Shareholders is 23224. The installed capacity of cane crushing is 2500 MT/Day. Other by products like Molasses, Press mud and Bagasse can also be produce with sugar. The annual production of Sugar and Molasses is 45000 MT and 20000 MT respectively. With gradual modification we have increased the crushing capacity up to 4000 TCD. The total Capital Investment of the factory is Rs. 52 crores and the Annual Turn-over is Rs.300 Crores. The project trial was carried out in 1995-96 with a crushing figure of 7129 tones cane and a recovery of 8.0 %. In crushing season 2015-16, a crushing figure of 710964 tones cane and a recovery of 10.00%. When the factory was started in 1995-96 the average yield per acre was hardly 25 tones and today it is 30 tones.

The factory has spent Rs.18.50 crores and set-up a Distillery Plant with a capacity of 33,000 litres per Day. The above plant has commissioned in Frabuary’08. The installed capacity of plant is 33000 litres per day of rectified spirit and 30000 litres per day of Ethanol. We manufacture Sugar through Double Sulphitation Process and to reach the International standard of Sugar. We have produced 20000 MT Raw Sugar in the season 2006-07 and exported.

1.3) Rural Development

With due understanding to its responsibility towards civic improvement and for the benefit of people surrounding the area we have established SHREE PANDUKESHWAR SEWA TRUST to improve Social, Economical and Cultural condition of this backward area. Under the banner of this Trust we are running a School – SHREE PANDUKESHWAR VIDHYAMANDIR. About 550 students from rural area are taking education write from KG to 12th standard. We also provide a facility of Diesel-Petrol Pump, Cane seed, Road & Drainage development in our area of operation etc.

Apart from the above, the surrounding Schools, Academic Institutions and Charitable Trust take substantial aid for their activities through rich donation for which cultivator members have-ear-marked a separate contributory fund and this fund is handed over to the Management of the factory for proper disposal.

In 2008-09 the Capacity Utilization was 100%. Alcohol sale in domestic market helps the management to give remunerative cane price to the Cultivator Members. Our own by-product Molasses is used for the production of Alcohol.

1.4) Coordination

Coordination between the factory and farmers are essential the factory has a close liaison with the cultivator members. In the operational area of 467 villages, there are village representatives one for each village selected out of dedicated-and honest social workers and information as well as periodical circulars are communicated to all the members from time to time. Coordination Meetings, Seminars, Training Programme are also arranged to keep members informed about latest-cultivation techniques, menurial, schedules, campaigns against various seasonal pests and diseases etc. This has helped the organization in achieving higher productivity per hectare under cultivation. In other words the whole group of farmer members and workers are staying together as one family and demonstrate excellent example of team spirit.

1.5) R & D

Several new varieties are being initiated after deputing leading farmers and Agricultural Scientists to neighboring states and after proper inspection. In our area of operation COC 671, CO 86032, CO 86002, COSI 95071, MC 707, CON 91132, CO 8209 etc. varieties are more advanced and farmers are preferred this varieties due to good result.

We have our own Effluent Treatment Plant and Bio-compost plant by which we take care of pollution. Byproduct from Sugar factory i.e. Filter Cake and Spent Wash is used to produce Bio-compost. This Bio-compost thus produced is excellent manure, which improves soil texture. This is given to farmers at nominal rate. This is one of the best approach and step towards Zero effluent, which protects environment also.

Varietals trails are conducted for introducing new and disease resistant high yielding varieties of Sugarcane and they are distributed amongst cultivators after trail. The factory has a 77-Acre Model Farm near village-Hathoda, Ta- Mangrol, Dist- Surat for this purpose. Our Factory Farm is one of the centers for advance varietals trails (Early & Mid Late group) under All India Coordinated Research Project on Sugar- cane of Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow.
